Menu Planning 101 E-Book Review and Giveaway

***THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED***
Did y'all know that there is a Cooking/Kitchen Organization section on the blog?  Well...if you didn't know, now you do (click here to check it out).  For the past few weeks I had been toying with the idea of writing another post for this very section so when Kristy Still of Mommy Hates Cooking approached me with an opportunity to read and review her new E-Book, Menu Planning 101, I was overjoyed because her offer couldn't have come at a better time :)

Any of you who know me know that I am a HUGE fan of organizing.  After all, I am a mother of two very active and young children.  Anyone who is a mother of multiple children will tell you that staying organized is the key to staying on top of things.

Kristy's E-Book, Menu Planning 101, does just that.  It helps you stay on top of things in the kitchen and when it comes to meal/menu planning.

In Kristy's own words......
"The E-book answers the 'why should I' questions of menu planning and includes my tips on building your menu plan as well as ways to keep it organized with coupons, a sample menu plan, and printable planners."

She not only includes weekly menu planners, but also monthly ones.  She also has a printable list of all the food items that you need to complete your pantry every month.  Don't think that the whole book is just about planners and lists though.  Kristy also explains in great detail why and how you should start menu planning and gives you tips and tricks along the way.

This E-Book is perfect for those who have left home for the first time, newly married couples, and those who have just had children.  I actually told her that I will be putting this book to use in the future ;)

Interested in obtaining a copy of your own?  Well, today is your lucky day!  Kristy has been gracious enough to provide one lucky reader a FREE copy of her E-Book.....

All you have to do is the following:
  • Leave a comment telling me what your favorite menu planning tip is

And that's it!  Sooooo simple ;)

  1. my tip is to plan ahead. i like to buy meat on sale and stock up and freeze it. that way when it comes time to plan then i am able to just plan some meals around what is already here!

  2. Been loving the crock-pot menu's for planning ahead to use left-overs from first of the week for meals at end of week.Since I'm only cooking for 2. now, I like to use left-overs to cut down on waste. My husband doesn't usually like left-overs but when they are "re-planned" he doesn't seem to mind!posting on Facebook.

  3. Is this where I post a comment to be in the drawing? My favorite menu planning tip is to see what I have at home already so I can plan meals using items I already have so I don't buy a lot of extra stuff. lucechange613@yahoo.com

  4. Menu planning is one big headache for me and I could certainly use some help. I would love to know in advance what I am going to prepare for supper and always have something available to eat instead of having to scrounge around seeing what I have to fix. I like simple meals with simple ingredients but also flavorful. I like being able to stretch one cooking into at least two meals. usserys@bellsouth.net

  7. One of my tips is to plan my weekly menu based on the weekly circulars. See what meats and veggies are on sale and in sseason and base my menu on that. What a great giveaway, Id love to receive this! Thanks for offering!

  8. My fav meal planning tip is to DO IT! I've been doing it for at least 15 years and it only takes a few minutes to plan out what we are going to eat, make a grocery list. Stopping is easier if you write out your list by the store aisles. I also put pantry items away that will go together in a recipe. We have the menu for the week written out. IF not we are less likely to follow it AND no one eats the ingredients for what I"m planning to make.

  11. I don't really have any great tips. I think I sometimes get in meal ruts. Like meatloaf with mashed potatoes and butter beans. Or chicken, rice and peas. Sort of the predictable...I rarely change up the sides with certain meats. Some sides just seem to go with certain entrees. I guess that needs to be a tip....shake it up some and change up what gets paired with what.

  14. I try to plan menus with meals that do not result in too many leftovers or with leftovers that can easily be turned into something else. My family's schedules are so mixed up sometimes. When I plan and cook something thinking we'll all be here, something always happens and I always end up with too much food that I end up eating by myself as leftovers the next several days. Too boring unless I can repurpose them. I think this book would be very helpful! Thanks for the chance to win!

  15. When planning a menu for a special dinner I go over all of my recipes and make just one trip to the store for my ingredients. Also, if there is something that requires a lot of dicing and slicing...I get my hubby in the kitchen for a little help there. Other than that...I am really not that organized, so your book could really help me :)
