Slow Cooker Beef Stew {Slow Cooker Monday}

This recipe is one that needs to be placed in your favorites file.

If you LOVE meat and potatoes, then you will absolutely enjoy this dish.  I am not a meat and potatoes kind of gal.  I am more of a carb fiend.  However, this recipe may just be enough to convert me.

If you have a man in your life, he will absolutely love you for making this.  Husband Man went back for seconds and my sister said her hubby did the same exact thing when she made it for him last week.  It has 'man' written all over it ;)

Heck, even if you don't have a man in your life and you enjoy dishes with red meat, make it anyway :)

It's chocked full potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, and beef cubes.  Tender beef cubes I may add.  With fall being in full swing, this is the perfect dish to make to ward off the autumn chill.

We served ours with rice, however, a basket full of biscuits would go well with it also.

(Serves 4-6)

6 carrots, peeled and thickly sliced
2 and 1/2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 onion, sliced
3 celery stalks, sliced
2 lbs. stew beef, cubed
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning OR Season All Seasoned Salt
15 oz. can tomato sauce

1.  Blend flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and seasoning in a bowl.
2.  Arrange vegetables in the slow cooker.
3.  Top with beef cubes.
4.  Sprinkle the flour/seasoning over the meat. Then pour the tomato sauce over it.
5.  Give everything a good stir.
6.  Cook on high for 5 hours or on low for 8 hours.

  1. You can never have too many Beef Stew recipes as far as I'm concerned. There's always a new twist somewhere along the line. Have to keep our tummies happy!
We eat a little bit of everything in my household, my hubby is a total meat and taters kind of guy. :-)
I do happen to LOVE using my crockpot so this will definitely be in my keeper file.
Hope all is going well for you and your family in your new home in NM!!

    1. Thank you Dalila :) And I agree, you can never have to many beef stew recipes.
